I went to OM for a power yoga class Thursday night, and even did a hand stand (sort of),
Anyway, I plotted out my weekend and here was the plan. Greg was supposed to come home again last night, just for one night. So far the company is giving him a random day or two off here and there because he kind of doesn't have a set schedule until next month. With the random days off, all he can do is try to come home at the last minute, which is proving to be a challenge. I'm hoping things get easier next month since he's got a set schedule then, but we were looking at it last night and I think it's going to be challenging as well... blah. Welcome to the world of a commuting pilot household. Sometime I'll go into why we choose not to live where Greg's based, but that's another post for another time.
My plan was to stay home Friday night, hang out with Greg, and then leave for Hilton Head today to spend a girls weekend with my mom. My dad is up in New England visiting my grandfather, so I figured I'd keep my mom company and take the opportunity to do some girly things we can't do when the guys are around. About mid-morning yesterday, Greg finished his trip and checked the flights to come home. No go. They all looked terrible, and he decided he shouldn't risk not being able to get back since he has a flight scheduled Sunday. :(
I almost went to Hilton Head last night instead of waiting til this morning, but then I talked to my mom and we both decided I'd just stick with the plan and come today. I hadn't packed yet anyway, and I actually got a lot done last night.
I ran some errands...
Buying cupcakes is an errand, right?
I ran four awesome miles in the gorgeous mid- 70 degree temperatures!
Plus, walked a mile with Clyde while I cooled down.
Then I made stir-fry for dinner with:
red pepper
onion
kale
peanuts
carrots
soy sauce
ginger
Seeds of Change Quinoa/brown rice
Yum :)
Ok, I'm off to pack and head to paradise for the weekend :)

I hope you have fun! I think one pull up is a big deal, I've never been able to do one and that's particularly challenging for most females who do weight train. I'm going to be husband-less the weekend of March 18. We should have a girls weekend if you're without husband too. :)
add this cupcake place to my list!
I've never been able to do ONE pull-up!I have huge shoulders (from rowing and now swimming) but zero upper-body strength so I just look like a freak.
So sorry about Greg's plans being changed. I cannot imagine how frustrating that is for you :(
Have a great time in HHI!
Every time you mention going to Hilton Head I get a little jealous. :) I love that place and would love to go more often. I d get to go last week for the half marathon. :) have a great weekend!
Upper body is wicked tough for me too. I don't know if I'll ever be able to do a decent push up. I have almost no core strength either.
Have a good weekend with your mom!
i LOVEEE your daily widget that tracks your miles!!! i need one asap! how do i get it?!
Have fun!! Hilton Head is a very lovely paradise indeed. I've only been there a hand full of times, but I'm hoping to go a few more.
I have a friend who has the best arms in the world. If I was her, I would live in florida like she does...just so I could wear tank tops year round. I saw a picture of her at age 5 and her arms had definition!! All I hope to do is minimize the arm waddle.
I hope you have a fun weekend!
Okay, the ability to do one pullup is badass! That is on my fitness bucket list.
Hope you're having/had a nice weekend! I know how it sucks when things don't work out.
