I think I've always been afraid of snakes. Even dead, run over snakes in the street freak me out and I've been known to shriek and hop around til I'm safely away from them when/if I see one!
Where I grew up (in rural NH), there were frequently snakes around my house and in the yard, and I definitely remember stumbling over a few sunning themselves on our walkway when I was a kid and totally loosing it! I just don't like how they appear out of no where and they are all slithery! Even little ones really freak me out!
It's safe to say, you're never gonna see this Brit doing this....
