The Music History of Me

Day 13 of the 30 Day Challenge - A picture of your favorite band or artist

Have you guys noticed yet that I'm incapable of using ONE picture and giving ONE answer to these questions for the most part??  Yeah, my music taste is pretty eclectic, so this is again going to be one of those multi-answered questions.

A little history on my music taste...
As a little kid I could not get enough Lionel Richie or Whitney Houston.  Oh, how I loved me some 80's pop!

Then around junior high I started listening to a surprisingly large amount of hardcore rap (in rural NH no less!).  That was thanks to my best friend's older brother, who took it upon himself to expose us all to these jams at extremely high decibels in his Nissan Sentra hatchback.

I swear there was a white 14 year old girl in my body somewhere...

In high school I discovered the whole Dave Matthews Band type genre of music as I traipsed around in my Doc Martens with a plaid shirt around my waist.

In college I loved The Indigo Girls, Sarah McLachlan, and of course, the Goo Goo Dolls.  Basically anything sort of feminist and deep.  How I never made it to Lilith Fair, I have no idea...

In the early 2000's I moved to Northern Virginia and got really into country music.  I loved Kenny Chesney, Tim McGraw, Dixie Chicks, all the borderline pop/country stuff.

I have a lot of stuff that I like listening to these days, but among my favorites are Coldplay, The Fray, Pete Yorn, and Colbie Caillat.

I actually I still like all the other stuff I grew up listening too as well.  It's all there on my Ipod to remind me of the good ol days :).

I think we're meant to be real life friends and not just blogger friends...between UNH, Luna Bars and now your phenomenal playlist - I'm pretty sure we'll have tons to talk about! I think we've come full circle though now because somehow Lionel Richie has come up in wedding music conversations...

Love your taste in music! In high school I listened to country... and hard core rap. Crazy combo right? My mixed cds would have Kenny Chesney, followed by Three Six Mafia- haha!

like the first poster wrote, based on our music history, we're already BFF's. I just saw Dr. Dre's new video yesterday, and I got out The Chronic to listen to!!
